Black Water Challenge Day 1

Today’s competition went very well for Jez, and the rest of the Jackson kayak team. The Day started off warm, but quickly cooled off as the day passed. By mid-afternoon the temps were in the mid-fifties and drizzling. The weather didn’t dampen our spirits any, we had a great time. Jez claims it was the coldest day he has experienced in years!


Jez took 5th in the prelims for C-1 and either first or second in OC-1. Emily and Ruth qualified for women, while EJ, Stephan, Clay, Jay in Pro Men. Also, Nick, Dane, and Jason qualified for junior men. Not to shabby! More results and stories will come tomorrow after finals. Check out Stephan Wright’s massive air!

We also met Bradley and Mike Meyer's aunt who lives in Watertown,she was very excited to see us and take our picture.

Tonight we are going to bed early.
